It is with profound sadness that the family announces Arved's peaceful passing Monday August 10, 2015 in his 57th year, surrounded by his loving family and after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved and devoted husband of Anne O'Neill. Adored father of Kristen, Brendan, Siobhan and Andrew. Cherished baby brother of Leo (Catherine), Linda (John) and Sheri (Michael). Predeceased by his dear parents Meinhard and Maria Toots. Treasured by his parents-in-law John and the late Kathleen O'Neill and his aunts Anneliese (Michael) and Rosa (Karl). Fondly remembered by his longtime "bud" Michael Sisk (Ana) and their children. His nieces, nephews, the O'Neill family, extended family members, friends, colleagues and neighbours will forever remember Arved's warm laugh, kindness, generous personality and exceptional character. His selflessness, ability to light up a room and his unfailing loyalty and support of others made him one of a kind. Visitation at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home Scarborough Chapel, 2900 Kingston Road (at St. Clair Ave. E.) 416-267-4656 on Monday August 17, 2015 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 9 p.m. A Mass celebrating Arved's life will be held at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, 21 Markanna Dr. (on Markham Rd. North of Kingston Rd.) on Tuesday August 18, 2015 at 10:15 a.m. Donations in Arved's memory may be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, if desired.

"Rest in peace Arved, we love you always."
