It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Babcia, and Prababcia, Danuta Brzozowicz, on November 13, 2015 at the palliative care unit of Toronto East General Hospital at the age of 88. She was a wonderful, kind and generous person and a devoted Catholic. Her smile would light up a room. Escaping her war-torn homeland of Poland, she and her parents immigrated to Canada to start a new life. She loved her adopted country, married and raised her family in Toronto, Ontario. She joins her loving husband Czeslaw, and parents Dr. Walter and Michalina Plonski in heaven. Lovingly remembered by her six children, Walter and Kathleen Cap, Elizabeth and Gordon Graham, Andrew and Keely Hoeppner (predeceased), Basia and Charlie Hastings, Peter and Karen Butler, Margaret and Mark Toljagic. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Caroline and Emily Brzozowicz, Tara, Michelle and Kimberley Graham, Ashley and Ruurd Dykstra, Alex Brzozowicz, Warren, Pamela, and John and Ros Hastings and great-grandchild Jake, Samantha and Ross Brzozowicz, and Julia, Brigitte and Naomi Toljagic. We are very grateful for the wonderful care and support of caregivers Josie and Jane, and the ladies and staff at Eldercare Home Health, Chester Village and the palliative care unit at Toronto East General. The family will receive friends at the McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Road, Scarborough, Ontario on Tuesday, November 17, from 6-9pm. The funeral Mass will be held at St. John's Catholic Church, 794 Kingston Road, Toronto, Ontario on Wednesday, November 18 at 11:00am followed by a Christian burial at York Cemetery, 101 Senlac Road (entrance), North York, Ontario. As an expression of sympathy donations to Covenant House Toronto will be appreciated.
