David Harshaw
August 14, 1935 - January 9, 2016
With deep sadness we announce the death of David Harshaw after a long battle with Parkinson disease. Husband, soul mate and best friend of Christa. Beloved husband of the late Mary Ann. Loving father of Kevin (Sheley), Mark (Martene), Stuart (Heather) and the late Peter.
Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Mackensy, Alex, Piersyn, Drew, Caira and Briar. Together again with our little Regan. Special Opa to Olivia, Joey and Sophie and beloved friend to Ralph, Jen, Tim, Monica and Larry. Best brother to Tom (Dorothy) and Susan (Bob) as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
After graduating from Queen's University in 1958 Dave began his career with the Canadian Army and upon completion he started his long career as a passionate teacher, coach and vice principal in Scarborough. However, his greatest passion was for his family and his beloved hand built cottage on Skeleton Lake where his final resting place will be.
Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of Dave's life at McDougall and Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Rd (east of St. Clair Ave. E.) on Friday, January 15 at 2 p.m. with a visitation two hours prior from 12 - 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Parkinson Society Canada.
