<div itemprop="description">Malik, Savitri (Sally) Marilyn - Beloved wife of Mohamed Bale (Alex), devoted mother of Zarah and Neil (Yasmin) and doting grand-mother of Indya. Daughter of Gobin and Anna Maraj (both deceased), sister of Jagdis, Shirley, Indra, Shrimatie, Vijay, Ava and Subash and a large extended family. Sally received her early years&rsquo; education in Trinidad, and then migrated to the U.K. where she trained as an R.N., specializing in Midwifery. She married Bale in 1970, then had her two children soon after. In 1977 the family migrated to Toronto where Sally had a very successful career as a dedicated and respected nurse, retiring in 2005 from the Scarborough General Hospital. She spent the next 10 years as a volunteer nurse with the VON where she made a difference everyday with her strong community presence. She was also a fixture at the Palliative Care Unit at SGH, where she, among other things, baked cakes and other goodies for the staff and patients, and ran the weekly games of bingo. Sally was an avid gardener, a voracious reader and a fantastic cook. Her generosity and determination to help all those who needed it has left a lasting impression on her vast circle of friends and colleagues because she made a positive difference in so many lives. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and all who knew her. Memorial Visitation will be held at McDougall and Brown Funeral Home &quot;Scarborough Chapel&quot;, 2900 Kingston Rd. , 416-267-4656, on Monday January 25 from 11am-1pm. Memorial service to follow in the Chapel at 1pm. Inurnment at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the Canadian Cancer Society or Princess Margaret Hospital would be appreciated. &ldquo;There is no death!
