His daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren spent the day at his bedside on Wednesday holding his hand and saying our goodbyes. Debbie was with him when he passed shortly after 2 a.m. on Thursday.

Wilf was born on March 12, 1917 in England and came to Canada a year later. He married the love of his life on July 29, 1939 and he and Jean, celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary July 29, 2015. Everyone knew Wilf to be fun loving, friendly, outgoing and very giving of his time and friendship. He loved to "putter" and the cottage they had in Trent River was "puttering heaven". There was no where he would rather be than with his family and his very good friends who had their cottages nearby.

Wilf worked at the Toronto Carton Company for 48 years and retired when he was 65. He and Jean took up square dancing and they travelled many places and met many wonderful people. The fact that they square danced 3 times a week and every other Sunday gives you some indication of how much they loved it.

Wilf was a wonderful father, grandfather, friend, brother and uncle. He is survived by his sister Margaret, his daughter Debbie, son-in-law Bruce and his two grandchildren, John and Jenn and several more nieces and nephews. Wilf was preceded in death by his loving wife and life partner, Jean; his parents and his sisters Norma and Lillian.

Wilf and Jean will be together once more in heaven which is where he is meant to be. Together!!!

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Lung Association online at www.on.lung.ca or donation cards will be available at the funeral home.

Wilf will be missed by his family and friends
