Ed Farmer was born at his parent's home at 2 Scotia Avenue in the Oakridge Community of Scarborough. Ed was the second oldest of seven children and was predeceased by his sisters Amy and Christine and brothers Len, Bill, Clifford and Patrick. Growing up he attended St. Dunstan's Catholic Church and School and Scarborough High School now R. H. King Academy. Ed played trumpet in the school band with his father as the bandleader and enjoyed playing ice hockey as well as other sports. Ed married Nan in 1956 and moved just a few houses away to the Warden side of the same block. Ed and Nan have two sons, James born in 1959 and Neil born in 1962 and three grandchildren, Caroline, Danielle and Jeff. Ed worked tirelessly as a member of Birch Cliff United Church securing donations for fundraising events. Ed was a terrific husband, father, uncle and grandfather and we are going to miss him.
