<div itemprop="description">On August 11, 2016 at home in North York in his 98th year. Predeceased this past January by Joan, his wife of 67 years. Beloved father of Christopher (Beverley) and Stephen (Alla) and proud grandfather of Sarah (Ian), Alexander and Monica. He will be greatly missed by his sister Elaine and friends and relatives in the UK. After serving in WWII, John and Joan moved to Canada where John had an illustrious career in the advertising business with Vickers & Benson and Needham, Harper & Steers. After retiring in 1985, John spent many hours painting his favourite scenes from the UK and Canada which has left a lasting legacy for family and friends. The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Delmanor Wynford, especially Brenda Martin and all the personal support workers and staff who tended to John's every need. The family also appreciates the care and guidance from Dr. Hopwood and her team at the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care. Visitation will commence at the McDougall and Brown Funeral Home , 2900 Kingston Road, (at St. Clair Ave. E.) 416 - 267 - 4656 on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 2:30 pm followed by a memorial service at 3:30 pm.
