<div itemprop="description">On March 7, 2015 at Toronto East General Hospital, Neil passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He will be greatly missed by his wife Vivien of 52 years, his son Neil, his daughter Leslie (Steve), his daughter Moira, his son Fraser (Cecilia) and his loving grandchildren Daniel, Marshall, Drew, Lucas and Elyse. Brother to Ron, Grace (Keith), Dorothy and Allan (Mary). He will be missed by his many nieces and newphews in Scotland, Canada, and the US. Neil was a Member of Parliament from 1980 - 1993 representing the Beaches-Woodbine anf the East York ridings for the New Democtratic Party. Throughout his tenure he represented several portfolios, some of which include Persons with Disabilities, Seniors, and Veterans. In his retirement Neil was an avid golfer, gardener, and enjoyed working in his wood shop with his grandsons where he always had a project on the go. Family and friends are invited to attend SHERRIN FUNERAL HOME, 873 Kingston Road, 416-698-2861, on Wednesday, March 11th, 2015 where visitiation will take place from 12 to1 pm with the Funeral Service to follow in the Chapel at 1 pm. A special thank you to the docotors and nurses at TEGH's ICU Team.
