JAMES BRYAN HOLMES 17 years old Passed away May 6, 2016 in Kitchener Ontario. James returned home to our God; where he will be surrounded by eternal love and peace until we see him again.
James was the son of Lisa Balko (Woods) and Aaron Holmes. Brother to Bryan Holmes, Angelina Holmes and Christopher Balko. Grandparents are Maurice Woods and the late Sharon Woods (Lines), Steve Balko and Christine Balko (Peterek), Irvin Holmes and Donna Holmes (Woodhouse). Aunts and Uncles are Heather Strasbourg (Woods) the late Paul Strasbourg, Chris Dingman, Lisa Balko and Richard Balko, Rhea Woods (Acedebo) and Ryan Woods, Helen Holmes (Gialousis) and Jamie Holmes. Cousin to Brent Strasbourg, Emma Balko, Christopher Holmes, Caitlyn Holmes. Stepbrother to Courtney Macneall. Step father Chris Balko who loved Jimmy as his own always put kids first; amusement parks, fairs, camping, and family outtings for the kids to have a blast; James respected Chris. Toomas Kirsi who also loved James as his own and had many chats with him by the pool.

James was a very bright boy/young adult who loved to help others. From a young age Jimmy loved attention and would be the funny guy in the room. If you needed a laugh Jimmy was there doing something wild. Cannon balls in the pool; making waves for his siblings who cheered him on, walking into poles at Walmart not paying attention, picking up his father (who couldn't get away) and carrying him over his shoulder, sneaking snacks etc and getting caught mid action, Chasing siblings, "fart bubbles in the pool" to see how his siblings reacted. Mooning people when they were sad for a laugh. If you needed a body guard...Jimmy wanted to be there ;) James loved to protect his family especially his siblings. He was so tall and serious at times; nobody wanted to mess with him. Jimmy loved walking up slow to people to get a reaction then would say "awww I'm messing with you, and walk away laughing". James gave so much of his life making people laugh. He may have been trying at times, but at the end of the day he was an amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend. James; when Angelina was young was up at the cottage and Angelina jumped in the water without warning, Myself (MOM) and Aunt (Heather) went to get her, but Jimmy ran, reached down into the water and pulled her up by the back of her bathing suit, saving her life. He was a Hero that day. He never did see it that way, but Angelina was just learning to swim and panicked after jumping in. James is my Hero. Later he continued to help people by donating blood, filled out a donor card 2015 and after his death donated his organs. Many people benefited and he again became a hero to 8+ people. James loved helping at the church events at St. John the Divine in Scarborough. He was always right behind me with a broom or packing up chairs. He loved how accepted he was and felt at the church and truly believed that GOD was so amazing and when I gave him his first cross he instantly felt peace. James always believed there was a God but wondered how it all began. I guess now he can get those answers and get to experience the love he has heard about. He will always be a child of God and to his family our baby. James We love you and this is not a standard obituary because James thought they were boring. Peace my son. God speed! Details of death were not important to James, details of life and how he touched people were. This is what he wanted people to read! Love you my Precious precious boy. Daddy loves you James ; Now you know it. We posted your funny pics Jim and got your MOOING videos up under the media tab on this site. (yes James moo'd like a cow)
